News about Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited

The media had reports that BSNL and MTNL are likely to sign a pact that would allow the state-run companies to utilise each other's network for providing pan-India mobile services.

The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the company.

Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "We confirm that MTNL and BSNL have signed a MOU today, that both BSNL and MTNL will utilize the network and infrastructure of each other for greater operational synergy and single window customer delivery. This will result into greater synergy between the two organizations.
