News about Idea Cellular Limited

The media had reports that Telecom Malaysia may pick up additional 15% stake in Idea Cellular Limited.

The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.

Idea Cellular Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "We wish to submit that the Company keeps pursuing growth opportunities and as and when any definitive proposal of any nature is considered and approved by the Company's Board, we shall forthwith comply with our disclosure obligations under the listing agreement."
