Market-wide Position Limit in JETAIRWAYS

 

The derivative contracts in the underlying JETAIRWAYS have crossed 95% of the market-wide position limit on July 10, 2012. It is hereby informed that all clients/ members shall trade in derivative contracts of JETAIRWAYS by offsetting their existing positions till the open interest comes down to 80% of the market wide position limit.

The media had reports that Varun Shipping Company Limited may recast debt by raising dollar loans against ships.

 

The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the company.

 

Varun Shipping Company Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, "During the course of its business, company has sold some of its ships to its associates/subsidiaries abroad and these companies in turn have made arrangements to borrow funds and acquire ships. Further, as and when company sells ships, the existing outstanding loans on the said ships are repaid as normal business practice.

 

Further, we would like to clarify that company has not acquired any ships on Bareboat Charter cum Demise (BBCD) basis over past two years.

 

We would like to submit that all the activities carried out by the company in relation to above are part of its normal business activity".
