The media had reports that
“3 Cos vie for Axis Banks's swipe biz".
The Exchange, in order to
verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and
to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is
safeguarded, had written to the company.
Axis Bank Limited has vide
its letter inter-alia stated, "We may advise that the Bank evaluates
opportunities for various strategic initiatives on an ongoing basis. As and
when any of these discussions fructify, the Bank will make suitable
announcements to the stock exchanges. We may also state in this regard that we
are not aware of any reason that may have caused the movement in the stock
price of the Bank today."
