Substantial increase in trading volumes has been observed in Elder Pharmaceuticals Limited.

The media had reports that Heritage Foods (India) Limited is in the advanced stages of spinning off the company's retail arm and promoters are looking at selling stake in the company.

The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the company.

Heritage Foods (India) Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, “Our Company decided to subsidiaries Retail business and a wholly owned Subsidiary Company namely Heritage Foods Retail Limited was incorporated and the decision of the Board was informed to the Stock Exchanges on 26th September, 2008. Company is open for strategic partnership in retail business for accelerating its growth. However before finalizing any of such deal we will follow the prescribed guidelines as per the Listing Agreement.

Company is not looking for any strategic investor at the group company level (HFIL) and the promoters are not looking to sell their stake.

The news in the market regarding open offer by a strategic player with a total transaction value of $100 million, is not true."
