News about Fortis Healthcare Limited

The media had reports that Fortis Healthcare Limited may acquire Wockhardt Hospitals.

The Exchange, in order to verify the accuracy or otherwise of the information reported in the media and to inform the market place so that the interest of the investors is safeguarded, had written to the officials of the company.

Fortis Healthcare Limited has vide its letter inter-alia stated, " As a strategy, the company is continuously evaluating acquisition opportunities to expand its network of hospitals. However, at this stage the company has not entered into any definitive agreement for the acquisition. As such, the news report is speculative in nature."
